Thumbs up because...Metallica!!! My opinion is that Miley has the wrong 'voice' for this song. Can i think of someone better suited? Not at this moment. The lyrics need 'grit' in the vocals. She doesn't have that.

We don't usually listen to disco music for the message. But this song is a bit different. It sounds very uplifting, at least until you hear the lyrics. Candi Staton was in a recent documentary where she spoke about the inspiration for the song, an abusive relationship incident where she nearly lost her life (twice). It happened at a Las Vegas hotel where she was opening for Ray Charles. As Staton relates the incident, her husband threatened to kill her, picking her up and holding her over the railing on a 20th story balcony of their suite. He later pulled a gun and threatened to kill her again. She really believed he would. The lyrics are a cautionary tale that describes a woman extolling the virtues of finding her own power and independence, while simultaneously lamenting how difficult it is to practice what she preaches in her own relationship. Classic abused spouse scenario.
